Meet the teacher

     Hello, my name is Mrs. Beverly Kathleen Overholt. I am very excited about this new school year.  I believe in making learning fun and meaningful! As a teacher, I am fair, fun, and firm!  I educate, motivate, enrich, and entertain through music and movement, and hands-on activities.  I have high expectations and your children will work hard. Practice and reinforcement, emphasis on the three R's is a must in school ie; rules, respect, and responsibility. Intrinsic as well as extrinsic rewards will ge granted in my classroom for daily academic and behavior progress. Safety and friendship go hand to hand with respecting each other and our environment.

     Let me tell you some  personal information about myself. I have a BA degree from Rutgers College and a Masters degree from Lehigh University.  Teaching is my third career and it is truly my love and passion. My personal interests are music, art/crafts and sports.  I have been married for 26 years, have 3 children, and 2 grandchildren.  I have traveled extensively around the country and chose beautiful Pennsylvania to be my home.

     My educational philosophy is to have children actively engaged in teaching and learning.  I promote the use of the multiple intelligences and sensory modalities in my classroom.
