Coach Mitchell Bio

Welcome to my class.  I am excited to be here at Orion and have the opportunity to work with you all.  I moved to Northern Utah this summer after 21 years in Las Vegas.  I got my undergraduate degree from UNLV in secondary education and followed that up with my masters degree in educational leadership. This is going to be my sixth year teaching math.  I previously spent five years at Coronado High School in Henderson, Nevada.  I have taught everything from pre-algebra to pre-calculus, so if you have questions, ask and I will find a way to get you an answer.  I pride myself on a consistent and comfortable classroom in which every student feels able to accomplish all the assignments.

I have been married for seven years and have a two-year old daughter.  My wife is an English teacher at Fremont High School.  I have also coached volleyball for 10 years.  The previous three years I was the head volleyball coach at Coronado High School for the men's and women's team, amassing two region titles and a state runner-up in those three years.  I am currently the volunteer assistant coach at Weber State University.  I will be trying my hands at coaching basketball this year here at Orion.

Some of the things I enjoy doing include golfing, fishing, camping, and anything athletic.  I am excited to be in a place that allows for so much outdoor activity.
