All About Mrs. Hurt

 This is my 7th year to teach 1st grade.  I graduated from Lockhart High School in 1998.  Following Graduation I attended Abilene Christian University.  While working on my Bachelor of Science in Elementary  and Special Education I met Brent Hurt during a vacation.  We have been married for 9 wonderful years, and we now have 4 children, who I have to say are the greatest children on earth! 

I was hired by Lockhart ISD in 2002.  I taught 1st grade for 2 years at Plum Creek Elementary here in Lockhart.  My last several years have been here in 1st grade at Bluebonnet.

As a child I had many dreams of what I wanted to be when I grew up...being a teacher was not one of them, but now that I am one I couldn't see myself doing anything else.  My mother, Earline Sneed, was a Master Music Teacher for years.  She has been a huge inspiration to me.  I watched her students fall in love with her, not because she helped them sing better or learn to read music, but because she actually loved them.  She says to this day, she didn't teach music...she taught kids.  I love that!

It is important to me that your children feel comfortable and loved in our classroom.  I pray that I can be just as wonderful to your children as my mother was to all of her students.
