2006 Varsity Highlights 2006 Section V Class B Champs

2006 section V Championship Team The Attica Varsity Girls Volleyball Team captured their first Sectional Title in 30 years. The team was led by senior captains Kristy Kibler (St. Bonaventure University), Sarah Sheffield (Clarion University of Pennsylvania), Mandie Bartz (Genesee Community College), Lauren Krajewski (Genesee Community College), Melissa Pestlin (Genesee Community College), Christina Boxler (Monroe Community College). Juniors Jen Brown, Melissa Feldmann, Justine Kopacz, Brandy Christopher, Caitlin Wilkinson, Brittany Jutze and Sophmore Katie Boxler also contributed to the 22-2 season. Third year varsity coach, Barb Dominesey, was at the helm.

Attica moved on to the Class B qualifier to face Class BB champion Livonia. The Lady Blue Devils came out hard and held on in the third game to sweep Livonia, 25-16, 25-13, and 28-26.

Attica moved on to face Section VI's Class B winner, Eden, in the Far West Regionals at Batavia High School. Eden's big-match experience proved to be too much, as Eden came out on fire, and won the match in straight games, 25-16, 25-18, and 25-22.
