Finally, you are a junior! Congratulations. You are beginning the final half of your high school career. This is the year for the exit level United States history TAKS test. If you want to graduate, you must pass this course and the TAKS test. My goal for this year is to provide you with all of the tools you will need to do both. Your textbook for United States history is The American Nation: In the Modern Era. (Holt, Rhinehart and Winston, 2003). Since this is The Academy, the textbook is online. Log on to http://my.hrw.com for your online United States history textbook. The username and password are available to you on Blackboard.
You will also be provided with a hardcopy of the textbook to leave at home upon request and there is a classroom set of books in Mrs. Bradley's room. All assignments are on Blackboard and you are expected to keep up with the classwork, even when you have missed a day of class. If you have any questions, email Mrs. Bradley at bbradley@irvingisd.net or come in after school for a tutorial. This is going to be a good year!
