3rd Quarter Target Skills for Kindergarten

 

Phonemic Awareness

-rhyming words

-beginning sounds (m, s, a, t, c, p, n, f, b, i, g, r, d, o, x, j, e, h & k)

-count words in oral sentences

-blend and segment onsets and rimes

-blend and segment phonemes

-substitute phonemes

-recognize middle and final sounds in words

 

Phonics

-identify the letters (m, s, a, t, c, p, n, f, b, i, g, r, d, o, x, j, e, h & k)

-identify the sounds for the letters: m, s, a, t, c, p, n, f, b, i, g, r, d, o, x, j, e, h & k

High Frequency Words

Kid Writing

-uses sight words: I, like, the, and, see, we, a, to, come, me, with, my, you, what, are, now, is, how, find, this, will, be, go, for, make, play, said, good, she, all, he & no

 appropriately during Kid Writing

-their picture matches their words

-uses a capitol letter at the beginning of a sentence

-uses punctuation at the end of a sentence

 

Math

-Counts forward from 0-75

-Counts backwards from 15-0

-Skip counts by 10’s to 110, 2’s to 10 and 5’s to 50

-Identifies a circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, diamond, and trapezoid

-Writes numbers 1-25

-Can recognize symmetry

-Recognizes, extends and creates patterns

-Can recognize numbers 0-25

-can write a number model to represent a number story

-identifies and knows the value of a penny and nickel

 

Science and Social Studies

-are not assessed for the 3rd Quarter

 

Handwriting

-can print letters properly (different from Kid Writing)
