Education and Career Five Steps to Your Future

Education and Career

1)   Establish your Pathway @ www.careercruising.com

?       Research careers within your pathway.

?       Determine what type of education you will need for your specific career.

?       If you are undecided on your career, choose a level of education within your pathway:

¨      Trade/technical school or apprenticeship

¨      2-year College

·        Note: Community colleges offer technical and college options…always a good place to start.

¨      4-year College

2)    Create a list of 5 – 7 schools or programs.

?       Consider:

¨      Location

¨      Admission requirements

¨      Cost of attendance

¨      Degree programs and/or certifications

¨       Job placement rate on completion

3)    Visit the schools or programs on your list.

?       Make an appointment with an admissions representative and take a tour of the campus or facility.

4)    Set long and short-term goals for your education and career.

5)    Apply early in your senior year.
