Welcome to Third Grade in Room B-6!!
Community Heroes On Wednesday, October 28th, the students at Hearst had an opportunity to meet many of our community heroes. We met the SDPD, SDFD, SWAT Team, and Border Patrol. We got an up close look at their vehicles and gear. To top it off we saw the SDPD and SDFD land and take-off their amazing rescue helicopters. It was a really special day! Mr. Hopper almost got arrested, but I spoke to the Sheriff and Mr. Hopper got off with a warning.
 Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher conferences will be held from Monday, November 16th to Friday, November 20th. Students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. on each day that week. I have already sent out the conference sign- up sheets. Please make sure to turn in your paper to get your first choice. I will be sending home a confirmation of our conference day and time very soon.
 Spelling City
Want a fun way to practice your spelling words? Just head on over to www.SpellingCity.com and you'll have a blast! Click on Spelling City in our main menu and you will find directions there that will tell you what to do. We will take a test in class every Friday, so practice each day. If you do not have internet access at home, I will send a packet of games that your child can use to practice his/her spelling words each week. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me.
 First in Math
First in Math is an AMAZING program on the internet that targets math skills. Many classrooms at Hearst are participating in this exciting program!! The program is very simple. Students are asked various math questions, as they get the problems right, they earn 'stickers'. The more stickers a student acquires, the higher the ranking he/she receives. The questions start off easy and then the levels get progressively harder. Have fun and enjoy the great things that "First in Math" has to offer!  Hearst Student Store
Did you know that the Hearst Student Council now has their own store? It is located outside of Mr. Zarro's office during recess on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Items for sale (currently) are pencils, lead, paper, staplers, water etc. Items range in price from $0.25 to $3.00. More items will be for sale as time goes on. If you are interested, bring your change and get the supplies you need!
 PTA Calendar of Events
