Homework In our classroom, homework every night is reading. J Your child has a Reading Log in his/her Reading folder. I assign leveled readers, as well as, independent readers at Guided Reading during our Literacy block. Any reading assignment that I assign takes precedence over independent reading or AR. As it accompanies our lessons, we will sometimes have math homework. I encourage you to review this with your child as this will foster a deeper understanding of our curriculum. If your child is having difficulty with a certain assigned homework, please let me know as this will alert me that your child might need further instruction in that area. We will also have special projects that might require at home preparation and work. You will have advance notice on these activities and plenty of time to accomplish the tasks. Part of weekly homework will include studying for vocabulary and spelling tests. Words can be found in agenda books. Overall, we will not have a significant amount of written homework!
