We will take a test on our multiplication facts on NOVEMBER 20th.  This will be a major grade!!!

Parents, we need your HELP! 

MATH-

We are in the middle of division, prime numbers and factoring... and the children are beginning to realize that skip counting to multiply is no longer working.  It's much too slow and leaves a lot of room for error.  Yikes!

So, all of our 5th graders have made multiplication flash cards and we need you to help your child memorize their facts.  Please!

Knowing their multiplication facts (as well as addition and subtraction) will make everything so much easier this year (and next and the next, and so on...).  Not knowing them will make everything from here on out much harder than it has to be.

SPELLING -

Please check the spelling list link on the lefthand side of the page.  The list for each week will go up the Friday before the week starts.

Beginning the week of November 16 your child may have different spelling words than the majority of the class.  If they've been making VERY high scores on their tests, they will be trying out a "challenge" list of words.  Don't worry, I won't give your child the "challenge" list unless I am certain that they can handle it.  I want all the children in the room to be challenged to do more than the minimum!  Life is tough, so let's get them prepared!
