9. Science Homework We are having to pack a lot of science material into the next two weeks before FCAT! Therefore, students MUST read the lessons before class. I PROMISE that I will teach them the material in class the following day, but it makes class a lot more productive when the students have a general idea about what we will read. Please help your child to remember to read for Science this week! I know that I will have some anxious students that want to read it all in one night, but please follow the schedule so that I have a chance to provide further instruction before reading ahead. Also, do not tear out pages from the lessons-- only the review pages at the end of lessons are torn out. Here are the reading assignments: Over the weekend (this was assigned Friday): Read Unit 8 Lesson 1, pages 336-347 & complete the yellow boxes Monday Night: read pages 372-381 (skip pg. 374-375), Complete the yellow boxes Tuesday Night: read pages 422-431 and complete yellow boxes Wednesday Night: pages 433-434 Brain Check & Apply Concepts On Thursday we will be taking a Sample FCAT Test for Science to acquaint students with the format and types of questions on the test. This will be used for a Daily Grade (30%). After that, we will be using a workbook to review. I only have a class set of this workbook, so students are not allowed to take this home. Please make every effort for your child to be at school and not check out early-- as this is not something they can complete at home. I am so excited for the students to show what they have learned about Science on the FCAT! I know that they will do AWESOME! posted 4/8/2012 1:23 PM |
