About the Teacher

Welcome to Mrs. Machado's Magical Stars website!  I hope that this site will keep you informed and provide helpful information.  A little information about me is that this is my tenth year teaching.  It is my eighth year teaching in Gwinnett County.  I have taught first grade, second grade, and fourth grade.  I taught for two years in Seattle, Washington.  I graduated from Michigan State University with a major in Elementary Education and minors in Language Arts and Science.  I have completed graduate coursework from the University of Georgia and City University (Seattle, Wa) in the areas of Reading and Instructional Technology.  Currently, I am working on receiving my Masters from Walden University in the area of Reading and Literacy.  I am married and have two children, Mariela, who is 4 years old and Amalia, who is eight months.  I live in the Lilburn area.  In my classroom I believe that all children have the potential to shine like stars in school if given the right kind of guidance, support, and encouragement.  I strive to offer this guidance, support, and encouragement so my students view school as a place where they can grow and succeed as learners.
