What's Going On in Enrichment?

Gr. 2: Second Graders  have finished their board games! What impressive work! Miss Borgman will deliver them to the Ronald McDonald House, and we know the children there will enjoy them.

Gr. 3: Third Graders have finished their Pet Care Manuals. Lots of work and creativity went into them, and I hope that someday they will put their new knowledge to use. They are also learning "Crazy Dog's Back Bones of Character," habits that are necessary for taking care of a pet.

Gr. 4: Fourth Graders have researched one minority baseball player to find the obstacles these players faced along with their character traits needed to overcome them.  Advanced students will use Jog the Web to read online articles that trace the history of diversity in baseball. They will make pie charts to show the changes in racial makeup of professional baseball, basketball, soccer, and football teams.

Gr. 5 and 6:  Fifth and Sixth Graders are displaying wonderful teamwork as they manufacture their friendship bracelets.  So much leadership!  Due to the sixth grade fieldtrip and the next two Mondays off, we may not make it to full production, but we'll still have a Marketplace for the first graders during the last week of school.

Gr. 7: Seventh Graders have finished their service project--a placemat for elderly people at Bayley Place. The placemat includes a prayer, a puzzle, quotations and jokes, and a geometric construction. Very nice work!
