Extra Credit Projects You Can Do to Raise Your Reading Grade!!! |

READING IS REALLY GREAT BOOK REPORT PROJECTS Directions: When you are done reading your chapter book, pick one of the projects below to complete. These projects are not required, but you will receive extra credit in Reading and your grade will be raised. 1. List the main characters. What did you like or dislike about each character. Give examples from the book to support why you like or dislike the character. Do you know someone who is like any of the characters? If so, how they like your character. 2. Describe the main setting or describe several settings of your book. Be sure to use lots of interesting, descriptive words. 3. Find 15 or more words from the book that were hard for you to understand. Do one of the following with those words: (1) Write one sentence for each word; (2) Describe in your own words what you think each word means; (3) If you don’t know the meaning of the words, look up the words in a dictionary and write down the definitions. 4. Write a summary of the main events that happened in the book. Your summary should be more than one page long. 5. Describe several story problems that occurred in your book. Describe how those story problems were solved. 6. Find examples of facts and opinions in the book. Write at least 10 or more examples of each. 7. Write a book review of the book. Describe why you thought the book was so interesting to read. If there was any part of the book that you did not like, write why you did not like that part. 8. Draw an illustration of your favorite part of the book. On another piece of paper write why that part of the book was your favorite.
