MATH AT HOME EXTRA CREDIT: There will be 2 Extra Credit Math sheets on the counter every day. Or some students will receive extra credtit workbooks. Extra credit does raise a student's grade on their report card.
SPELLING TEST(Studying for test should be done at home): Study /ow/ sound words for test on Friday, November 20. Remember if you develop a set of 3 x 5 cards for studying and have your parents sign the front card with your name on it and turn it in on Friday, you will earn 5 points for your Spelling Contract grade.
SPELLING CONTRACT ASSIGNMENTS: /ow/ vowel sound words contract assignments are due Friday, November 20.(These assignments are done in class, but some may need to be done at home to earn an A for the week).
WRITING: Writing project topic for the week: Haunted House; Crazy Turkey Story(In class work. Sometimes final drafts of writing projects need to be done at home): Story final draft will be due on Wednesday, November 18. Skills worksheets during the week on writing skills.
Science(In class projects): Current topic: Cell Organization into Organs in Animals . Assignment: Workbook Pages 23-28; Diagram of a Frog's Organs Page 28 and Write up. Possible experiment will be done if these supplies are brought in: Soda Pop bottles; baking soda; diluted vinegar; balloons.
AMERICAN HISTORY(In class assignments): Current Topic-Colonization and the Conflict it Created. Assignment-Workbook pages 54-56. Assignement-In Class project-Booklet with illustrations describing cooperation and conflict between the Colonists and the Indians. This project is due on Friday, November 20; At home research report: You have two choices and that is the colony at Jamestown or the French and Indian War. Your research report is due due on Friday, November 20.
READING(In Class Assignments): Story being read this week The Land I Lost; Assignments during the week-Monday-Comprehension Sheets 41 and 45; Tuesday-Partner Retelling and Individual Summary; Wednesday-The Land I Lost Assessment Test and Bring in the Oxygen Science Skills Sheet; Thursday-; Friday-Scholastic News paper and activities and S.R.A. Skills Reading Cards.
AT HOME READING AND READING LOG: Students are to read each night in a chapter book for 15 or more minutes. They are to fill out their reading log, and have you sign it each night.
EXTRA CREDIT AT HOME READING ASSIGNMENTS: Extra credit reading skills sheets are available on the counter every day for your child to take home. Some students will be given extra credit workbooks for their extra credit. Doing extra credit sheets does raise a student's grade on their report card.
BOOK REPORT PRJECTS: On my website in My Resources are a series of book report projects that students can choose from to do when they finish reading chapter books. These projects if done will help to raise a student's grade on their report card.
