My name is Mrs. Sylvia and I am the homeroom teacher for 5D.  The 2011-2012 school year will be my fifth year teaching at Atlantis. I teach reading, writing, and social studies to 5A and 5D.

I have my bachelors and masters degrees in elementary education from Bridgewater State University. One thing I enjoyed about going through the elementary education masters program is that I was able to choose my own electives which allowed me to take several reading classes as well as a few in math and science. I may only teach ELA and social studies, but I enjoy helping out in math and science as well!

You may have friends or relatives who were in my classroom when my name was Ms. Rogers. I got married in 2008 and even though my last name is Sylvia, you'll still hear "Ms. Rogers" sometimes around Atlantis. It's o.k. I answer to both names! My husband and I also have a cat at home named Koda. He's a little crazy, but we love him and you'll hear me talk about him often.
