Important Notes and Reminders

•  Mid Trimester Progress Reports-Progress Reports went home last Friday (May 13th).  Please review your child's report, sign it, and return as soon as possible.
• NO School-School will be closed Monday, May 30th due to the Memorial Day holiday.
• Field Trip-Second grade has a field trip planned for Friday, June 3rd. Information regarding the field trip went home last Friday, along with permission slips.  Please sign and return your child's permission slip by Wednesday of this week.
• Spring Pictures-Spring Pictures went home last week.  If you are purchasing your child's pictures, please send your money in this week. If you are choosing not to purchase the pictures, they need to be returned to school. 
• Donations-We have completely exhausted our supply of tissues, paper towels, and Clorox wipes. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
• Swim Instruction-This trimester we will have swim instruction at the Boys and Girls Club. Our day for swim is Friday. Swim instruction will begin Friday, March 18th. Your child will need to bring a uniform bathing suit and a towel to school every Friday. Please place the bathing suit and towel in a bag seperate from you child's backpack.  Backpacks DO NOT go to the Boys and Girls Club. Bathing suits and towels should be labeled.
• Homework-There will be a slight change to our ELA homework this trimester.  We will no longer be doing Fast Start.  Instead of Fast Sart, I will be sending home ELA or Word Study actvity sheets that will support/reinforce what we are doing in he classroom.  One activity sheet will go home each night (Mon. thru Thurs.) and is expected to be returned the following morning.  Reading logs will continue to go home and are expected to be completed and returned the next morning as well.
• School begins promptly at 8:00.  Please make sure that your child is in school and ready to learn by 7:56. 
• We will have a short snack every day.  The time will vary according to our schedule. Please provide a healthy snack and drink for your child.
• Our classroom is not located near a bubbler.  It takes a great deal of time out of our day for everyone to go to the bubbler to get a drink.  I'm asking that each child bring in a water bottle to keep at their coat hook in the event that they should need a quick drink during the day (especially during the warm weather).
• Homework has begun. Students are expected to read 15-20 minutes and complete his/her log each night (including one night over the weekend). Reading logs are expected to be returned to school every morning.

****Gym clothes (sweat pants, wind pants, and sweat shirts) can only be worn on gym days. Swim is considered a gym day.
