1st grade has nightly homework assignments on

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. 

Spelling homework assignments are different for each night & your child will bring home the week's assignments on Monday with their new spelling pattern for the week.  Spelling tests are given on Friday.

Math homework assignments are a review of the lesson that was taught in class that day.  Homework packets from the first grade Math teacher, Ms. Griffin, will be sent home on Monday and will be returned for collection each day. 

Reading homework is given on a weekly basis.  Reading bags or assignments (poetry packet; fairy tale logs, etc.) are sent home on Monday & returned on that Friday or the following Monday.  Please see the assignment for the due date.  Reading with your child daily is very important for their reading development!  It's also a great way to relax & share some special time together! On days when your child has their turn with the classroom reading book bag they are not required to complete other READING homework (math or spelling homework will still be required though).  Just sign in the reading log & note that they completed the book bag instead.  Any late or incomplete reading logs will be graded as such.
