A Picture Says A Thousand Words: Imitating Models in Classic French and American Revolutionary Paintings

Answer questions

Internal:  What are the character's occupation, educational background, hobbies and entertainment choices?  Is the character bright, limited mentally but determined to be the best he can be, brilliant, or slow and uninteresting?  Does he have ethics? Is he religious?  What faith? How does he feel about other people, rich or poor, or towards life and the future in general?  Is the character optimistic, pessismistic, easygoing, happy, sad, cynical, sarcastic, pompous, arrogant, opinionated, etc?

External: Appearance, dress, physical makeup (is the character old? young? strong and fit? disabled or in pain? etc.), the sound of voice, the way the character walks, mannerisms, etc.

What am I doing?

What do I want?

What do I have to do to get it?

Act out for final grade and turn in questions on Monday/Tuesday March 23/24, 2009

You may write a short story to raise your grade. (This is worth two Classwork Grades) 

 

Learn to Speak with a French/English Accent Wednesday March 25, Thursday March 26.

Then create a monologue/narrative dealing with the French or American Revolution.  It may be from the viewpoint of an animate or inaminate object. You must include 10 facts about the French or American Revolution. This will be a Quiz Grade (Acting out) and a Test Grade (Story). 

Continue working on English/French Accent Monday March 30, Tuesday March 31, and Wednesday April 1.

Thursday April 2 and Friday April 3 Field Trip (Spring Break until April 13)

Continue working Tuesday April 14.  Wednesday April 15 write short stories. Practice Thursday April 16 on "English" and "French" Accent with stories. You will recite this on Monday April 20 and Tuesday April 21. Wednesday April 22 and Thursday April 23 will be dedicated to testing and/or Graduation Project.

Complete a test packet.  You must complete 25 tests on the following topics: Word Analysis/Vocabulary (last 3), Evaluative Comprehension (last 3), Literal Comprehension (last 3), Interpretive Comprehension (last 3), Literary Response/Analysis (last 3), Basic Grammar/Usage (last 2), Capitilization (last 2), Composing/Writing Process (last 2), Composition (last 2), and Punctuation (last 2).  You must make an "85" on each test before copying and pasting into a word document.  Send them to me via email. The total packet should have 25 tests by the end of completion.  Due Thursday April 30 (Project and Test Grade)

We will complete 6 Improvs throughout the remainder of the year.  (3 Quiz Grades, 2 Classwork Grades, and 1 Preparation Grade)
