Tech Talk Primary students continue to use a variety of keyboarding , drawing and painting software. Intermediate students are researching using Cobb County School District recommended internet sites. They are also using several Microsoft applications such as: Word, Excel, and Publisher.

 Some favorite sites are:

http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/nav/grade_g_1.html       Math acticivities

http://www.pbs.org/parents/                               PBS site for parents and children

http://cvl.cobbk12.org/                                          Cobb Virtual Library

http://www.kids.gov                                              U.S. Government site for kids

The technology savvy fifth graders will be evaluating web sites. Next month they will be comparing valid and hoax sites. By understanding that not everything they read on the Internet is true they will be able to better use accurate data in their collaborative projects in the content areas.

Dynamic fourth graders will be producing engaging slide shows to demonstrate what they have learned through their research on topics in Science and Social Studies.

Social third graders are developing community awareness skill as they deepen their Internet research on the effects of pollution and humans on the environment.

Inquisitive second graders will be broadening their knowledge and understanding of what they read by conducting author studies of books they will be reading in their classrooms.

Traveling first graders will be collecting information and experiencing the culture of Australia through their Internet links.

Enthuastic kindergarteners are experimenting with drawing tools in Word to create their own graphic displays and to continue sharpening their keyboarding skills.
