Dear Parents/Guardians:

As you are well aware, the traffic situation at arrival and dismissal is extremely hazardous. I have noticed that parents double park and wave their children to cross the street on their own. I have also observed parents dropping children off, whereby, they are opening the car door street-side to exit. Additionally, parents are parking in the crosswalks preventing pedestrians from crossing safely. Numerous letters have been sent home over the years asking for your help to abide by the traffic regulations.

My concerns have been brought to the attention of the First Precinct regarding student safety. I requested enhanced police presence during arrival and dismissal times. It is truly up to you, the parent, to comply with laws and to exercise extreme caution while driving near the school. The safety of every single student in this school is our main concern.

In addition, please be aware that in the event your child attends after-school AIS sessions, it is important that you pick your child up at the exit door. Please do not wave your child to the car.
